Clean water

The first rains meant clean water for everyone, the kids were so happy all lining up to have their drink bottles filled and those without drink bottles were happily given bottles by other students to share. For most of these kids it was thei frist time they have ever drank clean clear water. The local water hole is renound for Bilharzia, giardia and other viruses. So not only water but health is given to these beautiful students.

Community Support

The community support was amazing, the kids worked so hard and we received gifts of sweet bananas, passionfruits and thousands of thank yous. The community felt so privileged to be receiving a water tank to give the children clean, fresh water for the first time in their lives. For us it was an absolute honour to be there to help construct the tank and something I will never forget!

Tank construction

We loaded the tank into our van and with the help of the community, the students and the tank makers we set to work and constructed The Rosney Tank ' in situ'. To build the tank stand, the gutters and the tank took about three days.

Lubanda school had no water

On hearing that Lubanda primary school in Uganda had no water and young girls were being attacked at the local waterhole whilst collecting water for school, Lin Rosney immediately raised money through having her family donate money towards the water tank in replace of purchasing Christmas presents and bought the school a 5000L water tank. Waybaley nya nya Lin you have made a massive difference to every life at Lubanda school!
